Can Jessica 6 make it run further?</p><p><br />When Antony Hegarty took over guardian.co.uk/music in October, he picked a handful of his favourite bands and <a href=" http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2010/oct/12/new-band-jessica-6">Jessica 6</a> were among the chosen few. For Hegarty there was a friendship connection in that one third of the band is Nomi Ruiz, who has, along with Hegarty, performed with Hercules & Love Affair. Musically, Jessica 6 – completed by Andrew Raposo and Morgan Wiley – aren't too far removed from Ruiz's former band, creating a fresh take on 70s disco and filtered house with a dash of funk.
